R & T Steel and Wire Company, LLC currently has a position available in the Madison, Jefferson County, Indiana area for a Director of Operations/Special Projects Manager. The position responsibilities include inventory tracking and control for Midwest Tube Mills, Inc./Midwest Tube Acquisition Co., LLC/R & T Steel and Wire Company, LLC/Production Handling Systems, Inc., and other potential companies to be added as acquired. Additional duties include: Managing production staff in the development and evaluation of modular flow rack designs; reviewing product engineering designs to ensure compliance with engineering specifications; corporate quality standards, customer requirements and related specifications; evaluating and approving design changes, specifications and drawing releases and resolving engineering design and assembly problems; working with customers and sales staff to develop appropriate equipment for specific applications; providing feedback regarding design approval, component selection and feasibility issues; working directly with sales staff to secure customers' final configuration and equipment specifications; managing inventory and logistics for product lines, determine product pricing and managing key suppliers, import and customs clearance; consulting with upper management and engineering staff regarding production schedules; and preparing interim and project completion reports. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or the equivalent combination of education and experience. The position also requires at least 4 years of experience in managing the design, development or manufacture of modular rack design systems for automotive plants.
